The Longest Walk is a BAFTA-nominated walking simulator game about depression and suicidal ideation. Over the past five years, Dundee City has been one of the council areas with the highest suicide rate in the whole of Scotland. The Tay Road Bridge – an infamous local landmark for those seeking to take their life – has been labelled a “crisis area” by local councillor Lynne Short. More needs to be done to help people recognise the symptoms of depression and encourage those who are suffering to reach out for help before they reach a crisis point.
